How does Clockodo calculate vacation quota in Switzerland?
Clockodo calculates vacation quota in Switzerland using the value method. Find out how this affects part-time employees and workdays.
We are aware that there are two common methods for calculating vacation quota in Switzerland: the value method and the time method.
Clockodo is designed for the value method. Here, the value of a vacation day corresponds to the daily planned hours, and one vacation day must be deducted for each workday (including a “half-day”).
You can map this as follows:
For every day your employee wishes to take off, a full day of vacation must be taken.
The number of scheduled hours for the day does not affect this. Whether the workday is 8 hours or 4 hours, a full day of vacation is required.
This means:
That part-time employees who work fewer hours but work every day are entitled to the full vacation quota.
That employees who spread their working hours over 3 workdays per week are accordingly entitled only to a pro-rated vacation quota.
