How can I offset an employee's negative hours against vacation days?
Does an employee still have vacation days left but be in the red on their time account? We'll show you how to offset the two.
Clockodo does not offer automatic adjustment, as statutory vacation days, at a minimum, cannot simply be canceled or reduced. The employer is responsible for ensuring that the employee actually uses these vacation days for recreational leave. However, vacation days that exceed the statutory quota can be converted by mutual agreement.
To do this, reduce the employee’s vacation quota by the corresponding number of days. Make sure that, before editing the current quota, you may need to disable the default setting using the slider at the top.
In the next step, credit the employee with the days as hours. To do this, use the function for paid/cancelled overtime. For example, enter -16 hours there to credit the employee with 16 hours. (Don’t be surprised: Since this is a slight misuse of the function, it is necessary here to enter the hours as a negative value .) As a note, you should then indicate that X vacation days were offset against the negative hours.
This way, you have deducted the vacation days and credited the hours accordingly.
